Telegraph Article: National storytelling week: the art of telling a tale January 31 2014

In this Telegraph article I talk about the 14th Annual National Storytelling Week (1-8th February 2014) and how, in order for a child to be a good reader and writer, a child needs to be a good speaker and listener first.

I also question why Michael Gove last year announced his plans to axe the oral component of the GCSE English exam.

There is also a mention of Michael Rosen (the fifth British Children's Laureate) and his BBC radio series "What Makes Us Human" where he commented that it is history, or more precisely the telling of that history, that makes us human.
